Identifying Strokes due to Medical Malpractice

The risk of hemorrhagic stroke is increased when high blood pressure is improperly treated or when there is an unexpected increase in blood pressure. Ischemic strokes can be caused by the failure to properly treat blood clots.

A mini-stroke or transient ischemic attack (TIA) causes the blood flow to the brain to stop temporarily. However, the brain cells do not die during a TIA. It’s important to have the TIA properly treated as there is an increased risk that they will have a stroke in the future.
